Gilbane, in a public-private partnership with The University of Rhode Island, will develop two on-campus student housing communities and reconstruct a third. The companies reached the financial close of the partnership.

Landmark Properties, a fully-integrated real estate firm specializing in development, construction, investment management and operation of high-quality residential communities, and Henderson Park, the international private equity real estate manager, have closed on the acquisition of a 1.21-acre site in Charleston, which they will develop into a 335-bed, six-story student housing community adjacent to the College of Charleston.

Emory University has launched Phase II of “The Ridge,” its on-campus graduate student housing project, adding 383 beds to the existing 535, with completion expected in summer 2027 to address the shortage of graduate housing near campus.

Winona State University received approval from the Minnesota State Board of Trustees to build a $30 million, 340-bed residence hall called Foundation Hall, designed to improve student housing capacity and quality.

Calvin Theological Seminary completed a $20 million, five-story student housing project at 3300 Burton St. SE, featuring over 100 one- to three-bedroom apartments and family-friendly amenities to support its growing and diverse student population.

The plan shows five four-story buildings with 278 units and 630 bedrooms. Parking would be surface level, rather than in a garage, with 593 standard spaces, 23 compact spaces, 14 ADA spaces and 10 motorcycle/scooter spaces, bringing the total to 640 spaces.

Greystone provided a $46 million fixed-rate, 10-year Freddie Mac loan to refinance Madbury Commons, a student housing community in Durham, New Hampshire (524 beds).

Pork Chop Properties KP7 LLC acquired The Cardinal at West Center, a 471-bed, 218,037-square-foot student housing complex near the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, for $59.68 million, reflecting a per-unit price of $397,883.

A joint venture involving Pumphouse Residential Group, WeldenField Development and SPM has acquired The Lodge of Athens and Wildwood Baton Rouge, two student housing communities located at the University of Georgia and Louisiana State University, respectively.

Mississippi developers Desai Companies and York Developments plan a $45 million Sandcreek Redevelopment Project in Oktibbeha County, featuring a 100-room Home2Suites hotel and 504-bed student housing on a 21.6-acre site behind Walk-On’s and La Quinta Inn.
