7. Attending public events
Of course, there are some opportunities for integration with local residents on campus and one such method is through public events.
Universities are often cultural centres of their towns and cities and well placed to put on a raft of activities and events, from lectures to performances. Many of these events are open to the public and act as a great opportunity for students and local residents to unite over common interests.
Action: Consider having a pre or post event mingle session where participants can get to know one another and discuss their common interests.
