The Purpose Built Student Accommodation will contain 264 student bedrooms, 30 affordable homes, nearly 11,000 sq ft of ground floor commercial space and new public realm enhancements located next to the famous Grade II-listed Roundhouse live performance venue.

The project is being undertaken as part of Zenzic’s joint venture with Torsion which now comprises five major schemes all located in Russell Group university cities.

Firethorn Trust has acquired a PBSA development site in Hackney Wick London, under its growing Living platform. Firethorn purchased the site for an undisclosed sum, with planning permission to develop 204 high-quality student beds, 35% of which will be affordable accommodation.

Student accommodation developer Valeo Management Europe, which operates the Liv Student brand, wants to deliver approximately 550 new student beds and a commercial unit at Carrick Street. The project involves a brownfield site, currently home to the vacant headquarters of GAP Group.

Atelier has confirmed it is financing the development of a substantial PBSA scheme in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The £30.8m development finance loan has been provided to the Torsion Group, allowing the business to develop the PBSA scheme.

Cambridge City Council has approved plans to redevelop a city centre site at Regent Street overlooking a park, Parker’s Piece, into 26 student rooms and restaurant space on the ground floor.

Developer Cassidy has put its proposed Chainey Place development on London Road in Nottingham up for sale for an asking price of £3.9m. The site has planning permission for both 122 private rented sector apartments or 245 purpose-built student accommodation beds.

The former Nottingham City Council library building, located on Angel Row, could undergo a major transformation as plans have been unveiled to convert it into a mixed-use development.

The 5.9 acre former Royal Bank of Scotland site in Dundas Street currently has planning permission for around 350 new homes. Now developers Ediston, in collaboration with Orion Capital Managers, hope to change the two blocks of what were to be build-to-rent homes into purpose built student accommodation.

Fusion’s Longcross Court development, located on Newport Road will be spread across 488 units in several linked blocks, the tallest rising to 18-floors.
