Three Tuns Development, a joint venture between two professional property developers Simon Williams and Andrew Ward, has secured funding on a large semi-commercial asset, with backing from Shawbrook.

Greystar has acquired land for a student housing development in Ivry-sur-Seine, in the Paris suburbs, as part of its pan-European residential strategy. Construction of the 310-bed, 18-storey building, designed by Parisian architects Brenac & Gonzalez & Associés, will begin this September with completion scheduled for late 2025. 

Gonzalo Carpintero Navarro will be appointed as CEO of Livensa Living, the Southern Europe-focused student housing and flexible living specialist. He will succeed Neil Jones, who has decided to retire as CEO and will become Non-Executive Chairman and an advisor to the business, as well as continue to co-own the business in a joint venture with Brookfield managed funds.

Relocated college facilities are another step closer as further demolition work gets underway in South Shields town centre. The former Central Library on Prince Georg Square will be brought down, with the cleared site earmarked for student accommodation.

Swansea University has selected true student to be its official accommodation partner in a three-year deal. The deal will see the university channel 550 of its students to the riverside true Swansea complex each year.

Specialist property lender Leumi UK has provided Patron Capital, in a joint venture with Curation Capital, both based in London, with the facility loan to fund the acquisition and refurbishment of Ladybarn House, an established 117-bed scheme in Fallowfield.

The University of Iowa is asking $45 million for a dorm that houses more than 1,000 students. Selling the building is part of the university’s five-year plan to improve student housing, which includes renovating two existing dorms and building a new one on the east side of the Iowa City campus.
