A £200 million hospitality and community venue is being proposed in Edinburgh as The Social Hub announces plans to expand its growing European footprint with a second UK hotel.

Study Inn Talbot Street, located in Nottingham city centre near Nottingham Trent University, delivers a premium student accommodation experience combining luxury hotel standards with practical living, featuring fully furnished studios, all-inclusive bills, and high-end amenities such as a wellness spa, gym, yoga studio, and private cinema.

Far East Orchard is targeting to reach assets under management (AUM) of $3 billion in core assets by 2050, up from $2 billion in 2025. The group is also aiming to reach 25,000 rooms and 85,000 beds in five years’ time, up from its current 17,500 rooms and 55,000 beds as at November this year.

Avenir Homes, a Longford-based construction firm, has secured a three-year extension to complete a student accommodation and residential development in Athlone, extending the deadline to August 2030.

Longford-based Avenir Homes, led by developer Mark Cunningham, secured planning approval for a mixed-use development in Westmeath, comprising 122 residential units, 283 student bedspaces, and a modern creche across Cartrontroy, Kilnafaddoge, Lissywollen, and Ardnaglug.

A purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme with ground-floor commercial space is heading to Birmingham City Council’s planning committee this Thursday. The 16-storey development would deliver 263 student bedspaces, including studios and cluster rooms, alongside 904 sq ft of commercial space. 

Global student accommodation operator Unite Students has acquired a portfolio of 1,200 beds across the UK from a private investor, expanding its footprint in key university cities and strengthening its position as a market leader.

GSA has acquired management of additional investments valued at approximately $200 million, including the Luxembourg-based Coral Student Portfolio, expanding its asset base in the student accommodation sector.

The iLiving Group has submitted plans to convert the vacant former university teaching buildings at 94-98 Regent Road, Leicester, into 110 student bedrooms across 20 cluster flats, pending approval from Leicester City Council’s planning committee.
