Asset manager Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), on behalf of Legal & General Retirement Institutional (LGRI), has recently announced the completion of its first direct-let purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) acquisition, following the purchase of the Aqua Portfolio from Global Student Accommodation (GSA).

Ealing Council has approved the construction of 412 student rooms near West Ealing station. The planning application received over 550 objections from residents associations, businesses and campaigners due to its controversial height.

Plans to construct a six-storey student accommodation building on a university campus in Nottingham have been given the go-ahead. The building at the University of Nottingham's Jubilee campus in Triumph Road will include 169 bedrooms, including 34 studio apartments.

Architects Carmody Groarke and Sheppard Robson’s winning design will see three clustered blocks of 650-students connected at the lower floors and via garden terraces.
