JLL Capital Markets announced that it has successfully secured refinancing for The Timbers, a 155-unit, 253-bed student housing complex in San Marcos, Texas. JLL worked on behalf of the borrower, Orion Real Estate Partners, to arrange the loan through Freddie Mac.

Develia has signed a letter of intent with Innova Capital and Solida Capital to develop student housing through an investment fund. Develia’s stake in the project, which will result in the construction of several buildings providing a total of 6,000 beds, will amount to up to 10 pct of the capital commitment at the fund level.

Just west of its campus in Westwood, UCLA has started work on its latest student housing project: the redevelopment of the Gayley Towers apartments.

Developer SAV Group have announced that planning has been granted to alter its existing Louise House PBSA development in Victoria, London. Located on 33 Medway Street, Louise House is an unlisted building at the junction with Arneway Street.

Greystar has sold Hale Mahana, a 191-unit, 589-bed student housing community in Honolulu. A joint venture between Timberline Real Estate Ventures and an Ares Management Real Estate Fund purchased the property.

Bellmount Developments have been granted planning permission for a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Cork City, Ireland. The plans were submitted by Bellmount Developments Limited in August 2022, but was held up due to a backlog of applications.

Comprising 383 beds across eight blocks, Orlando Village is being marketed by Allsop. The Bolton student scheme is situated of Thynne Street in the town centre and is “the University of Bolton’s only approved accommodation for a further 15 years”, according to Allsop.

Charleston, South Carolina-based Greystar and Merrimack College, a private college in North Andover, Massachusetts, have hit the ground running on a public-private partnership that will add 540 new student beds across two residence halls to the college’s North Andover campus.

A new 60-storey mixed-use tower has been proposed at 149 College Street, designed by Sweeny &Co Architects Inc. for Northwest Development Corporation and Alignvest Student Housing. Located just steps from Queen’s Park station and south of the University of Toronto St George campus, the development would include 480 student residence units in response to the city's growing demand for student housing.

The University of Victoria (UVic) is looking to build more on-campus housing for at least 500 students amid the rental-housing shortage across the capital region.
