Plans have been submitted to turn an A-listed building in Glasgow, Scotland into new PBSA. The application is pending assessment by city planners.

Fortitudo and Petra Development have applied to knock down the 'redundant' building on St Deny's Road to erect the accommodation buildings, a single storey building for communal facilities, plus cycle and bin stores.

UPP, the leading UK on-campus student accommodation provider, has appointed Simon Boorne to the position of Chief Investment Officer. He will lead on business development, asset finance and investment management. Simon, a Chartered Accountant, joined the business in 2013.

JLL has been appointed as adviser on the sale of Fusion Group’s purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) portfolio. Four prime assets located in Birmingham (622 beds), Loughborough (541 beds), Glasgow (619 beds), and Cardiff (706 beds), make up the portfolio. 

A former office block in South London could be turned into a 17-storey purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) building with over 300 student rooms. The plans were put forward recently to Greenwich Council by the MDPL Group.

New plans for 218 units of student accommodation inside a former police station in Stoke-on-Trent have been approved. Planning permission had already been secured to transform Hanley Police Station into 161 units of student accommodation, but plans were submitted in August which proposed 218 units.
