TPG Angelo Gordon and developer Hollybrook have joined forces to invest in UK student accommodation, with initial developments valued at £200m (€240m).

Plans to build student accommodation next to Paradise Nature Reserve in Cambridge have moved forward, despite concerns about the impact on pupils at a neighbouring primary school. Cambridge City Council approved a phasing plan for four accommodation blocks on Owlstone Road on Wednesday.

The blocks are located on the outskirts of a major city and serve students from a nearby Russell Group university. This purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) investment opportunity involved upgrading and repurposing existing stock with one block purpose built in 2019.

Plans for three blocks of student housing in east Greenwich, one seven storeys tall, could get the go-ahead next week after council planners recommended they be approved. The blocks would replace the old Speedy Hire warehouse on Woolwich Road, close to the River Ale House micropub.
