Plans have been submitted for a £100 million development combining family homes and student accommodation to deliver a 'truly mixed community' in Edinburgh.

Developer Dominus has hired Savills and Gerald Eve to find a forward funding partner for the Medlock Tower scheme in Manchester city centre. The building, which was approved by Manchester City Council in June, will provide 1,014 beds and be built on a site currently occupied by a Premier Inn.

The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) has announced a €75m commitment to Harrison Street for a co-investment strategy that will focus primarily on delivering new student accommodation in regional cities. The programme aims to deliver c.€500m of new accommodation.

A real estate fund manager has struck a deal to acquire a student accommodation development of more than 600 units from Coventry University with a view to refurbishing the site. Set on a 4.8-acre site four-minutes' walk north of the university campus, Singer Hall consists of 621 non-ensuite rooms and six studios. It has been purchased by Frogmore and will be refurbished and managed by specialist student accommodation provider, The Mansion Group.

Developer Regal London is putting forward revised plans to deliver 267 new student flats at the former One Housing HQ site in Chalk Farm Road, adjacent to the Roundhouse. The development is also proposed to provide 24 affordable homes for Camden residents, including family homes.
