Developer and manager Watkin Jones has exchanged contracts for the forward fund of the Gas Lane PBSA development in Bristol to global real estate investment, development and property manager Hines, who are acquiring the development on behalf of the Hines European Property Partners Fund (‘HEPP’).

Design and build firm McAleer & Rushe has won a contract worth in excess of £100m by developer Dominus Real Estate to redevelop an office block into over 700 student accommodation units.

Plans have been unveiled for a 623-bed student accommodation scheme on the site of a Mecca Bingo hall in north London. Real estate investor Tri7 and student housing developer Fusion Group have submitted proposals for the mixed-use scheme in Wood Green to Haringey Council.

A developer is making a second attempt at getting approval for a massive student accommodation development at the former Marks and Spencer site on Sauchiehall Street. Original plans by Fusion were refused by Glasgow’s planning applications committee in November.

Developer Re:shape Living has purchased a site on Macbean Street in Woolwich, with plans to create a new development for co-living and student accommodation. The site could also include a new two-storey community space and public realm, according to the developer.

Beachrock has been appointed to sell a £90m portfolio of purpose built student accommodation (PBSA), comprising 1,494 student bed spaces. The seven assets are located in four university cities with each bed worth £60k.
