Kexgill Group, a Hull-based student accommodation specialist, is launching a £20m joint venture with the University of Liverpool to develop 237 new affordable student living units on the city campus, starting next month.

The University of the Fraser Valley Abbotsford (UFV) has opened a six-storey mass timber student housing building with nearly 400 new beds, tripling on-campus accommodation and easing pressure on the local rental market. The facility includes a mix of four-bedroom units, studios, single-bedroom dorms, staff apartments, office space, parking, and cultural areas, reflecting a commitment to student needs and Indigenous heritage.

The planned $250 million project will provide housing to over 1,200 students and will include a dining hall and amenities. Completion is expected in time for fall 2028 move-in.
