Stratus Development Group has broken ground on The Haven at Wake, a 153-bed student housing development located near the Wake Forest University campus in Winston-Salem. The community will offer a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom units with bed-to-bath parity.

Work will begin next year on the St George's Road development, with plans to welcome students to the residence for the start of the 2026 academic year. It will comprise a range of high-quality single ensuite bedrooms with shared kitchens and self-sufficient studios, accommodating 262 students in total.

Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) plans a student hostel in Nairobi with a minimum of 2,500 beds in a strategy to widen its revenue streams. The hostel would be built next to the Technical University of Kenya campus and the proposed Central Station complex.
