Cal State University, Long Beach commenced work this month on a new project which will bring new student housing to the west side of its campus, Perkins&Will has announced.

The plans would see all of the 99 hotel rooms used as student bedrooms, with en-suite bathrooms. The existing communal facilities, including a large dining hall, lounge, kitchen, function rooms and recreation space, would be available for the students.

Blue Vista Capital Management has obtained $53.5 million in refinancing for Theory U District, a 171-unit, 441-bed student housing community in Seattle. PGIM Real Estate provided the floating rate loan on behalf of its core plus investment strategy.

Capstone Collegiate Communities has assembled enough land in the West University neighborhood of Tucson to build a 144-unit/448-bed student housing project. Capstone successfully secured approximately 1.5 acres at the southwest corner of Speedway and Euclid.
