A project featuring hundreds of student accommodation units has been proposed for land within a Coventry business park. The scheme, which is forecast to create a number of jobs, involves the replacement of a soon-to-be vacant office building.

University College Dublin has shelved plans to build more than 1,200 student apartments on its campus, as the development was no longer “viable” due to inflation in construction costs, according to correspondence.

Dundee councillors are set to discuss plans for construction of a six-storey student residence offering 242 bedrooms. If the council’s planning committee greenlights the proposal, the halls of residence will be built on a derelict site on South Ward Road near the city centre.

Sheffield Hallam University has struck a deal with developer Argent Relate to take the first commercial building at Brent Cross Town, which recently obtained full planning approval.

The Competition and Markets Authority’s (CMA) phase 1 assessment looked at how the proposed deal could impact students and universities across the UK, focusing on cities where GIC, Greystar and Student Roost have a significant combined presence.
