A developer seeks to bring a major project to Harrisonburg that would add more student housing along Port Republic Road. It would be built on a property at the road’s intersection with Devon Lane.

The shortage of student housing, especially on-campus residence options, accounts for a sizeable share of Metro Vancouver’s housing affordability and supply crisis. Over the next 10 to 15 years, UBC has plans to build 4,800 new student residence beds, including 4,300 at the Vancouver campus and 500 at the Okanagan campus.

A letter of intent has been signed by the university and private equity investment and management company, AAM15 Management, to build the housing on the east side of UVM’s main campus.
