Mississippi State University will develop Azalea Hall, a $80.7 million, 400-bed student housing community in Starkville, Miss. Roy Anderson Corp., a subsidiary of Tutor Perini Corp., is the general contractor.

A joint venture between Harrison Street and The Michaels Organization has sold The Next, a 551-bed student housing community located near the University of West Florida campus in Pensacola.

Landmark Properties has acquired a 15-acre site at 1345 28th Street near the University of Colorado Boulder. The firm will begin construction on The Standard at Boulder, a 936-bed student housing community, Landmark Properties’ first development of a purpose-built student housing product in the Boulder market.

Treo Group secured a $53 million construction loan to add a student housing development next to the South Miami Metrorail Station, property records show. The 13-story development is part of the Vox Miami complex and will feature 163 units with 400 beds, plus about 13,000 square feet of retail space at 5949 SW 72nd Street. 

C.W. Driver Companies is collaborating with designer A.C. Martin Partners on a 198-bed student housing complex at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). The $55.7 million project entails two four-story buildings encompassing 60,290 square feet, 30,000 square feet of which will be for housing.

A new project document submitted Dec. 18 to the Boston Planning and Development Agency, or BPDA, reveals updated details of Northeastern’s plan to construct a 23-story student residential building at 840 Columbus Ave. over the next five years.

Site plans for VERVE Columbia, a four-story, 700-bed student apartment complex near the University of South Carolina campus received approval from the Columbia Planning Commission Dec. 14.

Harrison Street and Core Spaces have continued their partnership with the acquisition of a student housing community in Eugene, Ore. The two firms acquired Identity Eugene from an undisclosed seller and secured an undisclosed amount of financing from KKR.
