Rockpoint, a Boston-based real estate private equity firm, and Realco Capital Partners, a real estate investment company specializing in student housing, today announced the acquisition of Summit Place, a Class A, mid-rise student housing community in Charleston, South Carolina.

Core Spaces has moved forward with a 26-story student housing tower at the foot of UC Berkeley. The project, dubbed the Hub, is slated to go before the Zoning Adjustment Board next month. It would replace two mixed-use buildings.

Vesper Holdings, in partnership with an institutional investor, has acquired The Lex, a 649-bed student housing community in Lexington, Ky.

Located at 1801 Cumberland Ave., the community will rise seven stories and offer 215 units in studio through five-bedroom configurations. Shared amenities will include a rooftop swimming pool, hot tub and sun deck, as well as ground floor retail. Construction on the project is set to begin in spring 2025.

Landmark Properties together with W5 Group has closed on its acquisition of a 2-acre site in the University Hill neighborhood, one block from the northern border of the Syracuse University campus in Syracuse, New York.

Palladius Capital Management (“Palladius”), a vertically-integrated real estate investment manager focused on pursuing multifamily, student housing, hospitality, and select thematic investment strategies, today announced it completed the sale of The Oasis, a 672-bed student housing property located in the Austin, TX suburb of San Marcos.

Walker & Dunlop Inc. has provided a $285.5 million loan for the refinancing of Vantage and The View at Montgomery, two student housing properties located on Temple University’s campus in Philadelphia. The Class A communities total 1,816 beds.

Chicago-based Byline Bank’s Commercial Real Estate Group (BCREG) has closed on a $15.2 million loan with Campus Realty Advisors and T2 Capital.

UC Davis will break ground on a new residence hall next spring in the Segundo area, following approval this week by the UC Board of Regents. The $100 million project aims to address the growing demand for on-campus housing and commitments the campus has made with the city of Davis.
