Forum Asset Management ('Forum') is pleased to announce that its Real Estate Income and Impact Fund ('REIIF') has entered into definitive agreements to acquire the entirety of Alignvest Student Housing Real Estate Investment Trust's portfolio ('Alignvest') for $1.686 Billion.

Quebec’s public pension manager and commercial real estate firm Walker & Dunlop Investment Partners expect to double the size of a joint venture they started nearly three years ago to invest in US housing. The JV makes preferred equity investments in student housing, manufactured housing and multifamily properties.

The Annex Group has broken ground on a new student housing community at the University of Memphis, in Memphis, Tenn. The community will be part of the Park Avenue Campus, also the future location of Tiger Park, an integrated academic and athletic facilities complex being planned by the University.

A Texas-based development company is planning to build a mixed-use housing complex at the site of the former Campus Village Shoppes. The development will add a privately-owned student housing option to the current selection of apartments along Route 1 in College Park. The project is expected to open in fall 2027.

Emet Capital Management has obtained $54.3 million in refinancing for The Avery, a 240-unit, 796-bed student housing community in Philadelphia serving the Temple University. BridgeInvest provided the loan.

Chicago-based Harrison Street Capital Partners is betting on student housing, senior housing and data centers. And investors are taking notice.  The firm closed a $2.5 billion investment fund dedicated to those in-demand asset classes last month, with 70 percent of the capital already deployed.

Vesper Holdings, a privately-held real estate investment firm based in New York City, is pleased to announce its latest acquisition - Midtown 905 located near the University of North Texas. The property is Vesper’s fifth acquisition in the Denton market.

JLL Capital Markets announced that it has successfully secured refinancing for The Timbers, a 155-unit, 253-bed student housing complex in San Marcos, Texas. JLL worked on behalf of the borrower, Orion Real Estate Partners, to arrange the loan through Freddie Mac.

Just west of its campus in Westwood, UCLA has started work on its latest student housing project: the redevelopment of the Gayley Towers apartments.

Greystar has sold Hale Mahana, a 191-unit, 589-bed student housing community in Honolulu. A joint venture between Timberline Real Estate Ventures and an Ares Management Real Estate Fund purchased the property.
