A business is bidding to add five floors to its base on the edge of the town centre to form an accommodation block for students at the University of Bolton. The applicant, Akbar Patel of AA Properties and Sons Limited, applied for outline planning permission for the site on Thynne Street at the end of last month.

A development site for more than 100 student bedrooms has been placed on the market. The site on Brook Street in Wrexham is already levelled after formerly housing a nightclub. It has planning in place for two blocks of three storey student accommodation providing 21 cluster type flats.

Developers have revealed they want to build a large-scale block of student accommodation just off the M32 in St Jude’s, close to the Cabot Circus multi-storey car park.

Plans have been submitted for a new block of student flats in Edinburgh with office space at ground floor level. If successful, the block will add to the existing 270 student beds which were unveiled near Murano Place in 2016. Unite Group Plc, which owns the development, is behind new proposals to expand the site.

Plans are in place for a renovation project in Birmingham, which involves renovating a historic building and constructing a new 14-story residence at 34 Horse Fair.

Linden Hill - Capital Assets - SPW is seeking full planning permission for the conversion and extension of Maple House, 150 Corporation Street, a 1960s five-storey office building with retail use on the ground floor. A total of 383 bed spaces would be provided, including a mix of cluster spaces and studios.

A shop and car showroom located at 185-187 Dundee Street and 4/5 Dundee Terrace will now be demolished and replaced with a six-storey block containing 206 beds, providing a mix of 52 ensuites and 154 studios.

Host Student Housing Ltd is set to begin work on a 447-bed purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in central Bristol. It is being backed by a global insurance institutional investor with a £85m forward funding deal.
