Empty offices near the M8 at Townhead could be turned into 150 student rooms under a plan submitted to Glasgow City Council. Developers want to convert and extend a building at Swan Street which has been vacant for over two years to provide student accommodation.

A 16-floor block of 432 purpose-built student flats in Glasgow city centre has been approved by planners. The development is being led by ES Renfield Ltd, part of McAleer & Rushe Property, and designed by Cooper Cromar.
