HB Reavis Development has made its first step into the UK’s purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) market after so far focusing on office developments in London. Now, they have plans to redevelop an office near Waterloo Station in London into a PBSA scheme.

Luxury student accommodation business YourTRIBE and development and investment company Redington Capital first applied for planning permission to demolish three low-rise residential buildings in Greenwich Quay and replace them with a 20-storey tower and a 15-storey one in December 2023.

Designed by Halliday Fraser Munro, the buildings are part of the firm’s Phase 3 plans for the former playing fields within the northern part of the Kilrymont site.

North West-based Xenia Estates and Xenia Lettings have expanded their leadership team with two key appointments. Paul Fletcher joins as head of compliance and risk at Xenia Estates, while Leighton McMylor takes on the role of head of property management at Xenia Lettings.

The development will comprise 957 bed spaces and include the partial demolition and redevelopment of the existing Good Shepherd Convent buildings. The plans also include a café, a co-working space, and security and administrative offices.
