The Union of Students in Ireland (USI) has called for more rights for students in 'digs' accommodation and has said tax relief should only be provided to householders who rent out rooms in their homes if the accommodation meets minimum standards to be set out in legislation.

A developer seeks to bring a major project to Harrisonburg that would add more student housing along Port Republic Road. It would be built on a property at the road’s intersection with Devon Lane.
