The winners of the 2025 GSL Awards for the UK & Ireland and Europe were revealed last night at a spectacular ceremony following GSL Live and the GSL Investor Summit, hosted at Horizon 22, London’s highest private event space. The events brought together leaders from across the UK and European student living sector to celebrate excellence, innovation and the student experience.
The GSL Awards are unlike any other industry awards. They are not based on written nominations and are not judged by a panel of experts. Instead, every award is based entirely on direct feedback from students. Over 65,000 students took part in this year’s GSL Index, making the GSL Awards the only awards in the sector fully powered by real student experience data. Universities and private accommodation operators can participate in the Awards free of charge through the Global Student Living Index.
This year’s GSL Awards embraced a 1920s Great Gatsby theme, adding style and energy to the evening. Guests enjoyed breathtaking skyline views from the 58th floor of Horizon 22 while celebrating outstanding achievements in student living across categories including customer service, wellbeing, broadband, learning environment and value for money.
Major Highlights
- University of Derby dominated the night with three awards, including Best University Housing for the fourth consecutive year, Best Environmental Management (third consecutive year) and Best Value for Money.
- Nido also won three awards, including Best Private Housing (Europe) for the third consecutive year, Best Student Broadband (Europe) and Best Student Community (Europe).
- Nurtur Student Living won Best Customer Service for the second consecutive year.
- Edge Hill University claimed Best Moving In Experience for the third consecutive year.
- LIV Student won Best Small Operator for the second consecutive year.
- Collegiate AC Group secured Best Booking Experience (Europe) for the second consecutive year.
