Plans approved to demolish Newcastle Barker and Stonehouse store for student flats

Newcastle city centre’s former Barker and Stonehouse store will be demolished and new student flats built in its place. The city council’s planning committee unanimously approved £40 million plans to tear down the vacant furniture showroom in Leazes Park Road on Friday morning.
