Generation Z students are three times more likely to go travelling during their university holidays than on a gap year, according to a report by leading hostel-booking platform Hostelworld.
‘Evolution of the Hostel Traveller’ suggests that 35% of Generation Z students wanting to go backpacking would do this during breaks in their course, while just 12% would want to take a full gap year.

The number of students planning to travel during their holidays has increased 57% in comparison to millennials’ preferences.
Students from India, France and Australia showing a particular surge in enthusiasm for this model of travel and study.
