Delayed plans to build student flats on the site of a former Dundee nightclub have been re-approved following the discovery of on-site contamination.

Tech group Kainos will begin construction work on its new Belfast headquarters in September. The announcement follows a decision by Belfast City Council on Tuesday evening to grant planning permission for two major developments on the former Movie House cinema site on the Dublin Road.

Plans to build a 28-storey student accommodation building in Cardiff city centre have been given the go-ahead. Cardiff Council’s planning committee voted unanimously in favour of approving the building, which will include commercial floorspace on the ground floor and a roof terrace on the 11th floor.
