Empty offices near the M8 at Townhead could be turned into 150 student rooms under a plan submitted to Glasgow City Council. Developers want to convert and extend a building at Swan Street which has been vacant for over two years to provide student accommodation.

An empty office block could be demolished to make way for a 20-storey student development just outside Leeds city centre if plans are approved. The project would provide 717 bed spaces at the site on Duncombe Street, a report said.
