UC Davis will break ground on a new residence hall next spring in the Segundo area, following approval this week by the UC Board of Regents. The $100 million project aims to address the growing demand for on-campus housing and commitments the campus has made with the city of Davis.

Developer WUKPG plans to develop a former NHS office into purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) have been approved. The Newcastle-under-Lyme PBSA scheme will replace a dilapidated office block, with much-needed student housing.

In global property consultancy Knight Frank’s latest UK Student Housing Market Update for H1 2024, the company reveals that investment into the UK PBSA sector reached £2.45bn. This is much higher than the £1.1bn invested in H1 2023.

Developer Regal London has sealed financing to start construction of a near 1,000-bed student accommodation scheme close to Wembley Stadium in London.

Camosun College has received funding approval from the provincial government for its first-ever student housing project. Construction plans include a six-storey, timber-frame building on the Lansdowne campus with 423 affordable beds. The building is expected to be ready for students from both campuses in fall 2027.
