Investec Real Estate has announced a £15.6m loan to Moorfield Group, a UK-focused real estate fund manager, for the development of a 293-bed purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) in Lincoln.

A joint venture partnership has lodged plans for a student accommodation development of more than 800 units on the site of a former Sainsbury's in Birmingham.

A developer has secured planning permission to build an 11 storey student accommodation scheme on the site of a well-known Belfast night venue. FMN Properties Ltd is proposing 201 student units on the site of Filthy McNastys on the Dublin Road.

Plans to turn a disused mill building in the New Basford area of Nottingham into a 136-bedroom student accommodation scheme have been revealed. Dave Landa of JGM Limited has submitted the plans for 490 Radford Road.

Tottenham Hotspur had previously won approval for 72 residential flats and a cinema on the site but will now build 287 student bedrooms instead.

The strategy will be led by Rosethorn CEO Stephen Rigby, who brings more than ten years’ experience in PBSA. Rigby was a founder and chief investment officer at Student Roost which was acquired by GIC and Greystar in 2022 for £3.34 bn (€3.9 bn).

Colorado School of Mines has started building five apartment buildings in Mines Park, which is along 19th Street west of U.S. Highway 6. The new buildings, which will be student housing for upper-level undergraduate students, graduate students and graduate-student families, are scheduled to open in August 2025.

Construction has begun on the first student housing project at North Island College (NIC) in the Comox Valley, which will provide over 200 students with on-campus accommodation.

A new student dormitory is being built in Jülich, which will provide space for more than 230 students. District Administrator Wolfgang Spelthahn has handed over a 21.5 million euro subsidy from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia to the investing Düren-based real estate company DDF KG.
