A 14-storey student accommodation development could be built on the site of a former clothing factory in Leeds under newly submitted plans.

Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) sector partner QX Global Group has announced the appointment of David Tymms as Strategic Advisor to the Board.

Unite Students has signed a build contract to develop a new circa 600-bed property. With total development costs of £75million, Marsh Mills will be constructed adjacent to the University of Bristol’s new Temple Quarter campus, ready for the 2025/26 academic year.

The largest of the two schemes, known as Devonshire Place, is for 940 student rooms and 200 on-site affordable homes at a site at 747-759 Old Kent Road. At present, demolition of existing buildings is pencilled in for February next year with basement construction starting in Autumn 2024.
