Co Tyrone developer MRP has formally submitted a planning application for an £80 million student accommodation scheme in Belfast city centre.

Inland Private Capital Corporation (IPC) and University Partners, an owner and operator of student housing across the United States, today announced a strategic relationship focused on managing and operating off campus purpose-built student housing opportunities.

Proposals for the developer’s third PBSA scheme within the Manchester neighbourhood are being worked up on one of the few remaining vacant plots.

New student accommodation at UWE Bristol which is the largest low carbon development of its kind in the UK has been completed. Purdown View, a 900-bedroom student village at Frenchay campus, will be fully occupied for the next academic year starting in September.

Birmingham City Council's planning committee voted in favour of the scheme last week by 14 votes to one. The 34-storey building would sit on the north of the 0.87ha site, facing the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal, and houses 740 student beds.
