Fanum House student scheme will involve complete demolition of two buildings
The developer behind plans to redevelop the site of Belfast’s Fanum House into a major new student accommodation scheme, has confirmed the proposal will involve the demolition of two existing buildings on the site. South Bank Square’s proposal involves 610 student units in a development reaching 17 storeys.

Initially unveiled last year, the plan will see the building at 140 Causewayside removed in favour of a mix of studio and cluster apartments. The current building is classed at ‘medium’ risk owing to its use of aerated concrete panels subject to minor cracking and spalling.
