Patron Capital, the pan-European institutional investor, has bought B16, a 136-bed purpose built student accommodation scheme in Birmingham on behalf of its joint venture with Curation Capital, a London-based investment manager that invests in and manages student accommodation, co-living, private residential and flexible offices.

A joint venture between Harrison Street and The Michaels Organization has sold The Next, a 551-bed student housing community located near the University of West Florida campus in Pensacola.

An abandoned Edinburgh call centre, which is set to make way for a residential development, could also see student accommodation built on the site. It is understood the development would include flexible working space, cycle facilities and a new public footpath from Learmonth Court to Orchard Brae.

Plans to increase the size of an already-approved student accommodation complex in Terryland – to include a total of 257 bedrooms – have been lodged with Galway City Council.

Working with architect TP Bennett, Dominus aims to bring life to the junction of Old Wynd Street and Osborne Street. A design document submitted with their proposal states: “It will provide high quality student accommodation totalling 211 rooms with an outward-facing amenity space at ground and first floor to create active frontages and a vibrant sense of place along Old Wynd and Osborne Street.”

Landmark Properties has acquired a 15-acre site at 1345 28th Street near the University of Colorado Boulder. The firm will begin construction on The Standard at Boulder, a 936-bed student housing community, Landmark Properties’ first development of a purpose-built student housing product in the Boulder market.

Treo Group secured a $53 million construction loan to add a student housing development next to the South Miami Metrorail Station, property records show. The 13-story development is part of the Vox Miami complex and will feature 163 units with 400 beds, plus about 13,000 square feet of retail space at 5949 SW 72nd Street. 

Sama Investments has submitted a planning application for a 238-bed student scheme on the former Goods Yard, as part of a phased redevelopment of The Arcadian Centre.

Unite Students starts the next stage of its 719-bed Stratford property after signing build contract. Work is starting on the construction phase of Hawthorne House, which is replacing a former office block, with total development costs estimated at £185million. The 36-storey building will be ready for the 2026/27 academic year.

C.W. Driver Companies is collaborating with designer A.C. Martin Partners on a 198-bed student housing complex at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). The $55.7 million project entails two four-story buildings encompassing 60,290 square feet, 30,000 square feet of which will be for housing.
